Shades of Ray

oh hello there, it's Zachary Levi and Sarah Shahi in this low-budget romantic film called Shades of Ray. It was about this young and broke half-pakistani looking for love, not knowing that it's just around the corner also discovering more about his heritage. it's a nice romantic comedy, it's not really deep but has a really nice ending. it was cute.

watched it via Instant Netflix.

arrgh, i hate christian pop, My grandma has better taste.

so i don't like the christian songs everyone's listening to. I don't like the contemporary christian music at all. It's like this...
christian music producer:

  • you want eminem?     we have Toby Mac
  • you want screamo/metal? we have Devil Wears Prada! August Burns Red!

  •  so on and so forth.
I'm not bashing anyone's musical taste, it just infuriates me how this (me) individual does not have a place in the christian music scene. Now everyone's thinking i'm not christian enough.
it just annoys me that there is little musical creativity in the christian music scene. They are all generic.
that is why i don't listen to any of them or star 99.1 (tri-state area christian radio station). I may be a christian, but i don't listen to any of 'em.
i'll just stick with what my grandma is used to. i like the songs in her time, because there's always something eery about the songs she sings, those so called "hymnals". those century old hymns are immortal!!!

I'll rant more about it later.

update on my life and why i'm ranting about this....

my mom dragged me along to an Amy Grant Concert last sat. Even though i'm not a fan and i hate contemporary christian music, i can't help but notice how pretty she is, even prettier than back in in the 80's.

STOP MOTION!!!

(Mis hermanos y yo) we're making a stop motion production! I'm actually quite excited about this thing. 1. my brothers would not spend their whole summer with Adventure Quest and Yu-Gi-Oh!, (hey i've done my fair share of card games/video game obsession, BUT IT WAS ONLY A PHASE!!! a short one in fact.) 2. Hermanos Bonding!

Landscapes?

giant tree by the backyard

I'm the kind of person that loves to learn new things, so i'm starting on my photography.
I'm trying to do different styles of photography. I'm kind of baffled that my low-end consumer dslr could actually take nice photos. I'm thinking of upgrading to d90 or d300s or just buy a nice kit of a film camera like the pentax k1000 (a classic and cheap buy for beginner film photographers) or a nikon f100, a really nice semi- profesh film camera that i could buy for a sweet deal on ebay.

From activia to yoplait, I've tried em' all. Me and the yogurtsss, we kinda have a rocky relationship. I just can't have the same yogurt brand every single day, BUT i think i found the one. Wallaby Yogurt is like no other. Especially the vanilla bean, it's so creamy and delish. Go ahead and buy it at Whole Foods or at Bj's. I might keep this brand for the whole summah long!

It's over and i'm a tad late

The same time i discovered the wonders of caffeine and the taste of Dr. Pepper, was finals week. It was dreadful and it was weird for me as a freshman, that when you're done with your exam, they don't care where the heck you're going, and so i went to D.D's. yes, i know. I'm a looser.

tumblritis

I thought i wasn't gonna buy into it. I was already 3 months into my blogger and i wasn't just gonna RELOCATE pack my bags to tumblr world and i ain't ready to handle 2 blogs at a time. Also, a blogger guru of mine who also have both of em' said it's better to have a blogger, because you can twist it a bit more and i guess the fashion world recognizes? (i guess all the fashionistas are here). Despite that, tumblr was too juicy, it's simply an eye candy. Also i've had friends gettin' their tumblrs, so i just gave in and bask in my new creation= iamdeewench. I've decided to just put quotes (wiseness), music selections, t.v show updates, my day to day status, whatever i like of the day, or just whatever's on the web. My tumblr is more of like a a merge of blogger and twitter for me, since i don't have a twitter. daily tumblelogs!!! Hope i don't crash and get worn out of this. Yes i spend 25% of my day in the computer, that's bad, really bad.

SEND IN THE CLOWNS

I love this song, thank goodness  i saw this song performed on broadway, for it was the ONLY part I anticipated for. Well not really. I really didn't know that Send in the Clowns is from A Little Night's Music, but thanks to my broadway-addict friend who texted me "send in the clowns" during the intermission, It then caught me that my fave broadway classics is in ALNM.

Now I'm going to do some broadway research. I heard that Guys and Dolls is goin' to be the musical my school is doing in spring '11. I just wanna be more cultured, because i've been listening to my Spring Awakening CD for the last 2 years and I need to get into those broadway-addicts conversations about musical i do not know, because, i'm not cultured enough.

I hate NJ weather!
Peace!

Ode to the Wonderland

Yesh! i do peace signs, not that i love it. It's the only thing i can do. 12 in the evening i was playing around with my tripod and decided to make a little modern ode to Alice in the Wonderland, have you guys watched Time Burton's Alice in the Wonderland? I heard it was great and i really wanna watch it!
Storyline: Asian Alice coming out of her closet!!!
did you get it, did you, i totally cracked up after typing that phrase.

Good and Plenty O' INTERCOURSE

Basically my Spring Break update.
So we went to Intercourse, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. All we did there was visit train engines, giggle whenever we hear the town Intercourse or the other town, Bird in the Nest (or somethin' like that), and we ate a LOT Amish Food!

RANT!

SO as you can see i am fucked
And that is why i am about to RANT!
Just sayin', gettin stressed= why i procrastinate!
Let's see, test and quizzes tomorrow and a bunch of SPEECHES in the weekend! RAAAAWWR!

This Friday, bunch (well 2) of my fave student teachers are leaving :.....(
Really it'll suck now that our grumpy old teachers are reinstating themselves in our learning process! At the same time i have observed how teachers get real CRANKY when they are teaching deprived.
It's like this (analogy time), the beginning of the year i was given vitamin water everyday and i loved it. Then, Fuze came in to my life and like 1st it's like BLEH, but now it's like a must have everyday.
This just really shows how a couple of my student teachers  evolved into real dynamic semi-educators within months and are actually dear to me now. Now, i think i'm going to fall asleep once again as i listen through  the teachers who have lost touch towards our generation, thinking that the only way  into US, is through technology
*cough*smart-boards*cough*.

I'll miss you Mr.LaB and Ms.Z!
Student-teaching may be a requirement to reach your goal, but i can see how this is one of those great experiences that will mold you towards your path of success. You have no idea how you impacted the lives of more than a 100+ somethin' students in a very short amount of time. I farewell thee and wish you all good luck, wherever you may be.

Blowin' In The Wind

get it? blowin' into my harmonica and the classic song by Bob Dylan?
Well i bought the album, "Dylan".
1st, it's to inspire myself as i work myself through
"When The Saints Go Marching In" in the Harmonica.
2nd, i was raised on full dose of Dylan!
alas i got a Bob Dylan album!

I really liked Dylan's political references in his music and basically the twangs and doo-weees he makes in the middle of his songs. He wasn't exactly a bad-boy, i mean he's a poet! He did however did a lot of shenanigans like being an advocate of recreational drugs, but look at him now, alive and still playin'.
Sum it all up,
He's one of my musical influences!

I love NY... PC

Yet another London Bloke!
I've always have this thing for bands with a hint of girl power (ordered book a book called Girl Power comin soon!), You know like, Meg and Dia, The Veronicas, and basically any band with a female front-woman!!! It's so full of energy, and New Young Pony Club has it,
especially in their album "Fantastic Playroom"
which has the best sons that you can dance and sing and mostly dance, "Ice Cream" and "The Bomb"

Listen to "Ice Cream"

Oh What A Day

Finally i bought an Ingrid Michaelson album "Be Ok" and the 2 songs that i really like is Keep Breathing (also because i heard it from Grey's Anatomy) and The Way I Am. I love her soothing voice and simple guitar background that just follows her. The songs are just so heartwarming, i call this the album for the single ladies. It just makes me feel more alone,
 this song is lot's-a-relatable.

Rainy Spring Break, with a hint of harmonica?

Spring started like an early January, what a bummer. Oh well, right now it's raining and i'm trying to accompany myself with my handy-dandy... harmonica. This was the product of my sudden attempt at compulsiveness/gut-feeling... i told my Dad that he's gonna drive me to the music store and i'mma go by me self a harmonica.
Why i bought it?
-Guitar+ Harmonica= Bob Dylan
-Old Man from down-south blowing on his harmonica while rocking on a chair in front of his porch.
-New Instrument!
-Nobody Does it.
-Pocketful of Sunshine!

Gone off mastering...Row Row The Boat!!!

Yey, Relatives!

My Uncle from the Philippines travels a lot, he even visited us like..2 times?
This time he brought his wife, 2 daughters, and PASALUBONG, tagalog for keepsakes or presents given to loved ones or friends. The 2 girls were a little shy though and unfortunately, the northeast temp. froze the bones out of em'.

For pasalubongs... we got sleepers for our guests that only costs for $2 each from the philippines.

I got this handmade, ethnic, yet very chic handbag!

More music-chip slots for awesomeness!

At last, we have our very own, 2-micked KARAOKE!!!! dun dun dun. For the past week, My Family was singing songs from Queen to Phantom Of the Opera! WIN!

off i'll sing!

Like In Bombay

Bombay Bicycle Club....
It's like a faint smell of curry as you cycle by a crowded pebble-stoned market. Somewhat close!
" Jack Steadman,Jamie MacColl, and Suren de Saram were 15 when they started playing under the name The Canals, cycling through various aliases until they picked Bombay Bicycle Club, named after an Indian restaurant on King's Road, London."
yep, with the addition of Ed Nash (bass guitar, keyboards, vocals), this indie pop band from U.K is reaching the indie scene of little NJ! A friend of mine showed me their single "Always Like This" an amazing song and just makes me want to bike! I also bought their singles "Evening/Morning".

Dunkin' Donuts Fever

retro!
Last week was yet another adventure!
So I woke up quite late for school one day i decided to stay at home and call-in for SICKness in school. 20 mins., my Dad decided that i should get my butt out and bike to school. So i stormed out to bike to school...but i was too angry, so i wanted to do something else. I decided to go to Dunkin' Donuts, except i got lost 2 times before actually getting to my destination. When i finally came, i ordered a Breakfast Sandwich, hash-browns, and a Large Iced Coffee. So I arrived to school with a cup of Iced Coffee and an excused late..."ka-ching!". Then this Sunday, I brought along my friend Prosie to a Hike to Dunkin Donuts!
Hoppin' Attempts Satisfied Costumer! with a sub + Iced Coffee!

More about our trip at our Kollabblog check it out if you have time,
Thanks!
Lookin' for this hectic week once again!

No LOVER at all

As you can see i don't exactly have a special someone for me, because i guess I'm too funny and gawky for a SERIOUS relationship. It's not like i'm those kids who are like, to busy or academic oriented. However, quite a contradictory, I love making Greeting Cards, especially, Valentine's Day Cards. I don;t know there's more freedom to it. You can add unicorns, rainbows, blood, and Lady Gaga and somehow if you can add a hint of RED, It'll still be lovely.
